Job summary

FirstService Residential in Pompano Beach is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain the building's exterior, lawn, and walkways.

The role requires operating handheld tools, adhering to safety procedures, and providing friendly service to residents. Full-time on-site position offering benefits and a 20.00/hour wage.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and basic maintenance experience; multilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
• Experience using handheld tools such as weed cutter, push lawn mower, hedge trimmer, edger, leaf vacuum and blower.
• Multilingual abilities are desirable.
• Experience and compliance with OSHA/EPA guidelines for chemical storage and use.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills required.

Description

Schedule: Sunday 8-4:30; Mooday 7-3:30; Tuesday-Thursday 9-5:30

Pay: $20.00/hr

Job Overview:

As a Groundskeeper, you’ll be responsible for maintaining the overall appearance and cleanliness of the building/facility.

Your Responsibilities:

• Cuts grass, maintains lawn, trims around trees, walkways and markers.
• Clears debris and maintains drives and walkways in safe condition.
• May be required to assist in the loading and unloading of supplies, equipment and/or merchandise.
• Maintains, services, cleans and properly stores equipment.
• Ability to properly utilize new equipment and follow safety procedures prior to using this equipment.

Skills & Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred.

• Must have experience using handheld tools such as weed cutter, push lawn mower, hedge trimmer, edger, leaf vacuum, blower and others.
• Multiple language fluency is desirable.
• Previous experience preferred.
• Must comply with OSHA and EPA guidelines concerning storage and use of chemical substances.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50lbs following appropriate safety procedures
• Work in an upright standing position for long periods of time
• Climb ladders and work at heights above ground level (maximum 3ft)
• Ability to work in different environmental working conditions (e.g., heat, cold, wind, rain)
• Walk and climb stairs
• Handle, finger, grasp and feel objects and equipment
• Reach with hands and arms
• Ability to quickly and easily navigate the property/building as required to meet the job functions
• Repeat various motions with the wrists, hands and fingers
