Job summary

Gateway Management Company is seeking a groundskeeper for Sunrise View apartments in Decatur, GA. The role focuses on upkeep to enhance curb appeal and supporting the Property Manager in meeting Gateway’s quality standards.

Essential duties include trash removal, cleaning of common areas, trash-out at vacated units, and assisting with make-readies and basic maintenance tasks under supervision. This position is based on-site at Sunrise View. Sunrise View is located in Decatur, GA.

Qualifications

• Experience in groundskeeping or property maintenance preferred.
• Ability to perform outdoor work in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Walk the property regularly to remove litter, debris, cigarette butts, and pet droppings.
• Maintain common areas such as the pool, laundry room, pathways, and parking lots to keep them neat.
• Perform trash-out duties at vacated apartments, removing abandoned items to dumpsters or storage.
• Transfer trash from outside dumpsters into the dumpster and keep dumpster areas tidy.
• Assist with routine property maintenance such as make-readies, painting, and distributing notices as directed.

Gateway Management Company is seeking a groundskeeper for our Sunrise View apartments located in Decatur, GA.

The Groundskeeper under the direction of the Property Manager, is primarily responsible for the upkeep of the property to enhance and maintain its curb appeal. The Groundskeeper will also assist the rest of the staff, under the direction of the Property Manager, to ensure the community meets the quality of standards set by Gateway Management.

Essential Job Functions:

• Physically walks the property on a frequent basis and removes litter, debris, cigarette butts and pet droppings from the grounds. It is especially critical that the following areas remain neat and free of litter always.
• Management Office, pool area, laundry room, mail kiosk/room, pathways to vacant units, stairways and breezeways, dumpster areas, recreation areas, grounds adjacent to the road, in front of the office, walkways to and from and in between building, exterior lighting fixtures and parking lots and drives
• Performs “trash out” duties at vacated apartments daily. Removes all abandoned furniture, trash and boxes. Transfers these items to the dumpster or storage area, whichever is applicable.
• Transfers trash and other items left outside of dumpster into dumpster. Pick—up, sweep area and keeping dumpster doors closed when not in use.
• Performs routine maintenance on property as directed by property manager, to include assisting with make readies, painting interior/exterior, routine service requests, change locks, distributing resident communications to residents, e.g. resident notices, unit inspections notices, pest control notices and/or newsletters.
