Job summary

Commander Navy Installations Command (CNIC) is seeking personnel for the Community Recreation Division, Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR). The role involves heavy labor, operation of power tools and large equipment, and support across grounds maintenance, facilities, warehouses, and rental operations.

Applicants should demonstrate KSAs related to operating a range of equipment, reading simple drawings, and following detailed processes.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safe and efficient operating techniques of various large equipment and power tools.
• Ability to operate and control riding mowers on slopes which requires constant attention to working space and environment.
• Ability to safely operate equipment around buildings, walls, trees, fence lines, banks and hillsides, trenches, curbs, rocks and other visible obstacles.
• Ability to operate various controls and levers to maneuver equipment and lift/lower, adjust, engage/disengage components or attached devices.
• Knowledge and skill using hand tools and other equipment such as: shovels, rakes, hammers, bars, saws, axes, loppers, wrenches, brushes, brooms, ladders, banding equipment, and pallet jacks.
• Ability to complete assignments involving several tasks by following detailed processes which require remembering directions, sequences, following simple drawings, etc.
• Ability to follow general instructions or read simple drawings to perform tasks requiring significant manual skill.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties commonly found in work situations in MWR, such as grounds maintenance, warehouses, facilities, and rental operations.
• This involves heavy labor and the use of hand and power tools.
• Operate motor vehicles, towed and large equipment as part of daily tasks.
