Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking a Groundperson to support the crew in utility line clearance projects. The role involves handling lowering ropes and assisting with lumber, tools, and site safety on-site in various locations.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license (CDL may be required), and relevant certifications or willingness to obtain them. Employment includes benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Driver’s license required; CDL may be required depending on job.
• Pesticide license may be required by state law.
• Line clearance certification if working near utility transmission lines.
• ISA Certified Tree Worker certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provides support for the crew by controlling lowering ropes, limbs and persons from aloft.
• Supplying tools for tree workers.
• Controlling road and sidewalk traffic as needed by use of warning devices and other methods.
• Cutting, chipping and loading brush and wood and proper job site cleanup.
