Pike Electric LLC in the United States is seeking a Groundman to support the construction, repair and maintenance of underground electrical distribution systems. You will work with a Foreman to build and service power grid infrastructure, performing physically demanding tasks outdoors in varying weather conditions.

This role requires a valid driver’s license, willingness to travel and overtime, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds while following strict PPE protocols to keep you and teammates

Formación

• Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain CDL within 60 days.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds.
• Willing to work outside normal hours, including weekends and overtime.
• Report to Foreman and work outdoors in varying conditions.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in construction, repair and maintenance of underground distribution systems.
• Install and repair underground facilities, conductors and related hardware.
• Maintain excavation equipment (backhoes, trenchers, excavators, pulling gear).
• Work outdoors in extreme heat, cold, rain, wind and inclement weather.
• Respond to outages, storms and emergencies including on‑call rotations.
• Follow safety protocols and PPE usage; inspect PPE and know when to wear it.
• Perform rigorous physical labor as part of daily duties.

Position Summary

The Groundman position is your first step to a rewarding career in the construction and maintenance of our nation's Power Grid. You will assist your team in building, repairing, and maintaining underground electrical distribution systems. You will report to the Foreman.

Essential Functions

• Perform new construction, maintain and repair underground distribution systems while putting safety first.


• Help install and repair underground facilities, underground conductors, and related hardware.


• Maintain excavation equipment to include backhoes, trenchers, excavators, and pulling equipment.


• Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and inclement weather.


• Available to work outages, storms, emergencies including on call rotation.


• Follow all safety protocols including PPE use and a comprehensive understanding of insulated protective cover to isolate differences of potential.


• Inspect rubber goods and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).


• Understanding of when to wear personal protective equipment.


• Will perform rigorous physical labor.

Minimum Requirements

• Valid Driver's License and able to obtain a CDL within 60 days.


• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.


• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.


• Work for extended periods at job locations, including out-of-state assignments.


• Willing to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and overtime.

Work Environment

While performing the responsibilities of this job, you are frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. You are occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at constructions job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. You will perform job responsibilities in extreme heat, cold, wet, windy, and storm conditions.
