Pike Electric LLC is seeking a Groundman in Manassas, VA to support our team in building, repairing, and maintaining underground electrical distribution systems. You will report to the Foreman and work outdoors in varying conditions, including outages and emergencies.

The role emphasizes safety, with PPE and protective equipment, and requires a valid driver's license (CDL within 60 days), willingness to travel, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

• Able to lift/carry/push/pull materials and equipment up to 50 pounds
• Willing to work outside normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, emergencies, and overtime

Responsabilités

• Build, repair, and maintain underground distribution systems under supervision
• Assist in installing and repairing underground facilities and related hardware
• Maintain excavation equipment (backhoes, trenchers, excavators, pulling equipment)
• Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions and during outages or emergencies
• Follow safety protocols and PPE guidelines at all times
• Inspect PPE and rubber goods; understand when to wear PPE
• Perform physical labor as required throughout shift

Position Summary

The Groundman position is your first step to a rewarding career in the construction and maintenance of our nation's Power Grid. You will assist your team in building, repairing, and maintaining underground electrical distribution systems. You will report to the Foreman.

The compensation range for this position is between $18.00 - $22.00 per hour.

Essential Functions

• Perform new construction, maintain and repair underground distribution systems while putting safety first.
• Help install and repair underground facilities, underground conductors, and related hardware.
• Maintain excavation equipment to include backhoes, trenchers, excavators, and pulling equipment.
• Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and inclement weather.
• Available to work outages, storms, emergencies including on call rotation.
• Follow all safety protocols including PPE use and a comprehensive understanding of insulated protective cover to isolate differences of potential.
• Inspect rubber goods and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Understanding of when to wear personal protective equipment.
• Will perform rigorous physical labor.

Minimum Requirements

• Valid Driver's License and able to obtain a CDL within 60 days.
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Work for extended periods at job locations, including out-of-state assignments.
• Willing to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and overtime.

Work Environment

While performing the responsibilities of this job, you are frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. You are occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at constructions job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. You will perform job responsibilities in extreme heat, cold, wet, windy, and storm conditions.
