Pike Electric LLC is seeking a Groundman for Transmission (GTC) maintenance. The role supports construction, repair and upkeep of overhead transmission lines, poles and hardware, reporting to a Foreman and performing physically demanding outdoor work.
Candidate must have a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a CDL within 60 days, with willingness to travel and work long hours including weekends and emergencies. Company benefits and safety-focused culture are emphasized.
The Groundman is your first step to a rewarding career in the construction and maintenance of our nation's Power Grid. You will report to the Foreman.
Perform new construction, maintain and repair de- energized powerlines while putting safety first.
Help install and repair overhead transmission lines, poles, insulators, conductors and related hardware.
You will perform rigorous physical labor and regularly lift heavy tools and equipment.
Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good work order.
Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and inclement weather.
Available to work outages, storms, emergencies including on call rotation.
Inspect rubber goods and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Follow all safety protocols and understand when to wear Personal Protective Equipment.
Valid Driver's License and ability to obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within 60 days.
Willingness to travel long distances on short notice.
Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Work for extended periods at different job locations, including out-of-state assignments.
Willing to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and overtime.

While performing the responsibilities of this job, you are frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. You are occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. You will perform job responsibilities in extreme heat, cold, wet, windy, and storm conditions.
