Job summary

Responsibilities include guiding engineering activities, securing resources, and coordinating with customers and suppliers. Travel is ~10%, and relocation may be at candidate’s expense.

Qualifications

• Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (recently active)
• BS degree in Engineering or related field
• 9+ years in engineering, emphasis on ground system engineering
• 9+ years in engineering profession
• 5+ years implementing/maintaining requirements and problem solving
• 3+ years leadership/management experience
• Travel required (10%)
• Leadership training: completed Boeing course "Exploring Leadership" or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Manages employees performing Systems Engineering activities.
• Develops and executes project and process plans, policies, procedures, and operational goals.
• Secures resources, manages suppliers, and drives process improvements.
• Builds and maintains relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.
• Reviews and approves technical approaches, products, and processes.
• Develops, motivates, and manages employees to meet schedule and budget goals.
• Directs daily work unit operations and coordinates with internal and external contacts.
• Leads through non-management employees, often with varying levels of independence.
• Advises the work unit on tasks, projects, and operations, and supports daily operations as needed.
• Directly supervises non-management employees in daily operations.
