Job summary

Textron Systems is seeking an intern to join the Ground Robotics and Ground Vehicles teams in Slidell, LA for the summer. You will contribute to real software development work across the full lifecycle and gain hands-on experience in a defense-focused environment.

The role targets students pursuing CS/CE/CIS/MIS degrees, with exposure to Linux/Windows development and standard protocols. A U.S. citizenship requirement is noted for security clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/CIS/MIS or a related field.
• Experience with hardware and software integration is preferred but not required.
• Experience with standard communications protocols (TCP, UDP, CAN, Serial) preferred but not required.
• Experience with software management tools such as Mercurial, Git, Jira preferred but not required.
• Experience with Linux and Windows development environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Tasks related to the full software development life cycle including design, development, build, integration, test, and delivery.
• Working within a medium size software development team on tasks related to military vehicle system development.
