Job summary

Horizon Air is hiring a part-time Ground Service Agent in Redmond, OR. You will work on the airport ramp, loading luggage, coordinating with flight crews, and assisting aircraft with servicing while maintaining safety and efficiency.

The role requires strong communication, the ability to lift 50 pounds, and a flexible schedule including nights and weekends. Starting wage is USD 19.12/hour with split-shift differentials where applicable.

Qualifications

  • Requires strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid unexpired driver's license issued by a US state/territory/DC.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, reach and grasp.
  • Basic math skills are required.
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Load and offload luggage and cargo, transporting to airport locations.
  • Distribute paperwork to flight crews including fuel slips and load plans.
  • Marshals and pushes back aircraft.
  • Prepare weight and balance forms and input data accurately.
  • Service aircraft with lavatory, water, grooming, deicing and security checks.
  • Operate and drive equipment such as belt-loaders and tugs.
  • Execute aircraft tow operations when required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Role Summary

The Ground Service Agent works in a fast-paced environment performing activities related to working on the airport rampand keeping flights running smoothly and safely.

Key Duties
  • Loadand offloadluggage and cargo, transporting to various airport locations.
  • Distribute all paperwork to flight crews including fuel slips, load plans, cargo manifests and flight releases.
  • Marshals and pushes back aircraft.
  • Prepares weight and balance forms and ensures load integrity by inputting accurate commodity codes and weights into a data entry system.
  • Service aircraft as necessary toincludelavatory, potable water, aircraft grooming, deicing and security searches.
  • Operates and/or drives multiple types of equipment, such as belt-loaders, tugs, air-start units, bag carts,lavatorycarts and deice trucks.
  • Execute aircraft tow operations if required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have a valid unexpired driver’s license issued by a US state, a US territory or the District of Columbia.
  • Ability to consistently lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

Starting Rate

USD $19.12/Hr.

Pay Details
  • Starting wage: $19.12
  • Schedule: 15 to 29 hours per week
  • Availability: Nights, weekend and holiday availability is required
  • Split-shift differential: When working a split shift, employees receive a $2.25 per hour differential. A split shift includes working a morning (AM) shift, taking an unpaid break, and returning for an evening (PM) shift.
  • Effective split-shift hourly rate: $21.37 per hour (base wage + differential)
