Job summary

Alliance Ground International (AGI) is seeking a Ground Ramp Lead to oversee daily ramp operations in a fast-paced aviation environment in the United States. You will supervise ramp agents and coordinate loading, unloading, and aircraft movements to ensure safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities include guiding turnaround, baggage and cargo handling, equipment coordination, safety checks, and collaboration with flight crews and other teams to resolve issues and maintain high safety standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; leadership experience preferred.
  • 2+ years in ground handling with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of ramp operations, safety protocols, and ground equipment.

  • Communicate with flight crews, ground teams, and other departments to coordinate operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues on the ramp to minimize delays.
  • Train and mentor ramp agents, ensuring adherence to safety standards and operational procedures.

Position Overview

The Ground Ramp Lead oversees daily ramp operations, ensuring the efficient and safe handling of aircraft on the ground. This role involves supervising a team of ramp agents, coordinating tasks, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise ramp agents in the safe loading, unloading, and movement of aircraft.

Safety, Security and Compliance
  • Take reasonable care for the health, wellbeing, safety, and security of themselves and of others who may be affected by their actions or omissions while at work.
  • Cooperate with their manager/supervisor to allow them to perform or comply with any legal requirements imposed on the company.
  • Not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided by the company in the interests of health, wellbeing, safety, security, or welfare reasons.
  • Inform their manager/supervisor of any work situation, equipment, or activity that represents a serious or immediate danger to health, wellbeing, safety, and security.
  • Report any hazards, near misses, incidents, accidents, or dangerous occurrences to their manager/supervisor, who will then follow the procedures contained in company and carrier Safety and Security procedures.
  • Carry out work in accordance with information and training provided and any specific health, wellbeing, safety, and security rules or procedures.
  • Fully understand AGI Health & Safety and Security policies.
  • Attend training courses as may be required by AGI.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in ground handling preferred.
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States if location is in the U.S.; must have authorization to work in Canada if location is in Canada.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in ground handling, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to manage teams in fast-paced environments.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with ramp operations, safety protocols, and ground support equipment.
