Job summary

Lucas Tree Experts is hiring a Ground Operations Technician in Rocky Mount, NC. This full-time, year-round outdoor role offers hands-on training and the chance to earn industry certifications with wage increases as you grow.

You’ll perform physical outdoor work, operate forestry equipment, prune, remove vegetation, and gain CDL-related skills through on-the-job training. Company benefits include PTO, holidays, and a solid benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older with a High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Must be able to work 45 hours weekly.
• Must have a current and valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
• Must be able to work outside in various types of weather.
• Must be physically able to perform the requirements of the position (i.e., walk on uneven grounds, carry 75 lbs.).
• Must be willing to work at varying heights.
• Must be willing to learn how to run a bucket truck and operate equipment safely.
• Must be willing and able to obtain a CDL A or B license (paid for by Lucas Tree Experts).
• Must be willing and able to obtain, and maintain licenses & certifications as required by the position (paid for by Lucas Tree Experts).
• Must be able to successfully complete a post offer physical & drug screen as well as a background and motor vehicle check.

Responsibilities

• Duties include: manual removal of vegetation from work areas, running various forestry equipment, performing line clearance, pruning, and removals.
