Job summary

Anduril Industries in California seeks a senior Structural Dynamics Engineer to lead ground and air vehicle dynamic analyses. You will develop multi-variate and Monte Carlo simulations, maintain multi-body dynamics models, and produce ground-load data in line with MIL-A-8863 and JSSG-2006 standards.

You will collaborate with design engineers on landing gear and arresting hook system optimization, prepare detailed reports, and define tests and instrumentation plans for dynamic validation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or applied physics with a focus in structural dynamics.
• 5+ years in a structures, dynamics, or loads role with hardware ownership and accountability.
• Strong understanding of statics, dynamics, solid mechanics, materials science, FEM, and dynamic testing.
• Proficiency with multi-body dynamics software and FEMAP/Nastran; Matlab/Python for modeling and data.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop ground structural dynamics analyses for multiple air vehicles and systems.
• Develop multi-variate and Monte Carlo analysis cases.
• Maintain integrated multi-body dynamics models.
• Generate ground loads data per MIL-A-8863, JSSG-2006, and other standards.
• Collaborate with design engineers on landing gear and arresting hook design and optimization.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and present findings to teams and customers.
• Develop test plans and perform landing gear/arresting hook dynamics testing.
• Define instrumentation and process ground dynamics data acquisition.
