Job summary

APEX Cardiovascular Group in Knoxville, Tennessee, is building a new general cardiology program in a renovated office with dedicated imaging spaces, including PET/CT, and access to an ambulatory surgery center.

The full-time role focuses on outpatient care, collaboration with vascular surgeons and primary care providers, and a two-year partnership track with equity opportunities within US Heart and Vascular.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Cardiovascular Disease fellowship.
• Eligible for an unrestricted Tennessee medical license and applicable hospital or facility privileges.
• Commitment to collaborative, high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Interest in helping build and grow a new cardiology service line.

Responsibilities

• General cardiovascular consultations, evaluation, and longitudinal patient management.
• Outpatient diagnostic testing and interpretation within the physician’s scope and credentials.
• Cardiac risk assessment and preoperative clearance for patients within the existing surgical referral pipeline.
• Collaboration with vascular surgeons, advanced practice providers, imaging staff, and clinical teams.
• Development of strong relationships with primary care physicians and other referring providers throughout Knoxville and East Tennessee.
• Participation in the continued development of the practice’s cardiology services, quality standards, and patient access strategy.
