Job summary

Hanwha Defense USA is seeking a Combat Vehicle Field Support Representative to provide on-site technical, operational, and maintenance support for armored platforms and subsystems. You will work as the primary field interface among operators, program teams, logistics, and customers to ensure readiness and effective deployment.

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Automotive Technology, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Weapons Systems Technology, or equivalent military training.
  • Professional experience supporting combat vehicles, tactical wheeled vehicles, turrets, artillery systems, or weapon-station platforms.
  • Strong technical knowledge of heavy vehicle mechanical systems, hydraulic subsystems, electrical/electronic architecture, onboard diagnostics, and turret/fire-control technologies.
  • Ability to diagnose complex faults using schematics, technical manuals, diagnostic tools, and software-based troubleshooting systems.
  • Experience working independently in field, operational, or test environments.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and customer-facing skills.
  • Ability to travel frequently and operate in varied and austere field conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site technical assistance for operation, diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of combat vehicle systems.
  • Serve as primary field point-of-contact for soldiers, maintainers, and stakeholders.
  • Conduct fault isolation and root-cause analysis with engineering and logistics teams.
  • Perform configuration checks, inspections, calibration, and functional tests.
  • Support field installation, upgrades, and integration of subsystems.
  • Document incidents and feedback to engineering and sustainment teams.
  • Deliver hands-on operator and maintainer training on vehicle operation and safety.
  • Support field trials, range events, and system evaluations in diverse conditions.
  • Maintain compliance with safety, manuals, and configuration-control processes.
  • Travel frequently to field units, depots, and customer locations.

Combat Vehicle Field Support Representative
Position Summary

The Combat Vehicle Field Support Representative (FSR) provides on‑site technical, operational, and maintenance support for combat vehicle platforms equipped with integrated automotive, turret, weapon, fire‑control, and electronic subsystems. This role serves as the primary field interface between operators, maintainers, program engineering teams, logistics personnel, and customer stakeholders to ensure effective deployment, sustainment, troubleshooting, and readiness of the vehicle. The position requires broad technical expertise across heavy automotive systems, turret and weapon subsystems, fire‑control technologies, and vehicle electronics, along with experience supporting U.S. military platforms in field, depot, and test environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide on‑site technical assistance for operation, diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of combat vehicle automotive and turret systems, including powertrain, driveline, suspension, hydraulic, electrical/electronic, fire‑control, and weapon‑control components.
  • Serve as the primary field point‑of‑contact for soldiers, maintainers, customer representatives, and program stakeholders.
  • Conduct fault isolation and root‑cause analysis on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and fire‑control issues, coordinating corrective actions with engineering and logistics teams.
  • Perform configuration checks, system inspections, calibration tasks, and functional tests to ensure platform compliance, readiness, and configuration‑control integrity.
  • Support field installation, upgrades, retrofits, and integration of new automotive or turret subsystems and components.
  • Document field incidents, maintenance trends, reliability observations, and configuration changes; provide detailed, actionable feedback to engineering, logistics, and sustainment teams.
  • Deliver hands‑on operator and maintainer training covering vehicle operation, system functionality, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and safety procedures.
  • Support field trials, range events, live‑fire activities, demonstrations, and system evaluations in diverse environmental and operational conditions.
  • Maintain strict compliance with safety requirements, Army technical manuals, maintenance standards, and configuration‑control processes.
  • Travel frequently to field units, depots, test ranges, customer locations, and partner facilities.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Automotive Technology, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Weapons Systems Technology, or equivalent military training.
  • Professional experience supporting combat vehicles, tactical wheeled vehicles, turrets, artillery systems, or weapon‑station platforms.
  • Strong technical knowledge of heavy vehicle mechanical systems, hydraulic subsystems, electrical/electronic architecture, onboard diagnostics, and turret/fire‑control technologies.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting self‑propelled artillery, remote weapon stations, 6x6/8x8 tactical wheeled vehicles, or manned turreted combat platforms.
  • Active or eligible DoD security clearance.
  • Familiarity with Army technical manuals (TMs), sustainment processes, safety procedures, and depot‑level support requirements.
  • Experience collaborating with engineering, logistics, program management, and sustainment teams.
  • Prior leadership experience supporting field operations, depot maintenance, armament repair, or test events.

Actual compensation may vary based on relevant skills/experience, education and certifications, market conditions, geographic location and internal pay equity.
