Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat Corp. in Groton, CT, is seeking Deckplate Planners to support shipyard operations in a fast-paced production environment.

You will develop and maintain work instructions, incorporate design changes, and ensure adherence to planning processes while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders. You will collaborate with Operations, Ships Management, and Production Control Planning teams to monitor schedules, resolve problems, and drive quality goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years experience in trade, shipyard, military, planning/production control, design, inventory, scheduling, customer service, logistics.
• Experience with Microsoft Office: Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word.

Responsibilities

• Development & maintenance of Work Instructions using Teamcenter & PCM/EWP.
• Incorporation of design changes (CRs/CNs), LOA revisions, problem sheets, work transfers.
• Adherence to planning processes & procedures.
• Collaboration with peers and supervision for development of new processes and procedures.
• Executing department goals related to quality and attainment.
• Monitoring construction schedules.
• Performing tactical problem solving.
• Collaboration with internal & external stakeholders.
• Problem resolution.

Overview

Electric Boat – Groton shipyard is seeking Deckplate Planners who are ready to work in a fast paced production environment performing planning functions in support of Groton Operations departments. The Planning organization offers exciting opportunities for individuals seeking a long term career path at Electric Boat. Candidates must be highly motivated, self-starters who are detail and task oriented and able to prioritize multiple responsibilities and interface with multiple organizations.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Development & maintenance of Work Instructions using Teamcenter & PCM/EWP
