Job summary

Petco Animal Supplies, Inc. is seeking a Grooming Salon Leader in Charleston, SC to manage our grooming salon operations and lead the grooming team. You will deliver expert grooming services while ensuring exceptional customer experiences and a positive work environment.

You will recruit, train, and coach staff, optimize schedules, monitor performance, and collaborate with store management to hit salon targets. A passion for pets and strong leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience as a professional groomer and/or completion of a grooming training program.
• Strong leadership skills, with 1-2 years previous experience of salon management, or related field, preferred.
• High-school diploma or GED preferred, though not required.
• Very strong verbal and written communication skills for interactions with pet parents and grooming team members.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the grooming salon, optimize scheduling, manage inventory, and implement staffing plans.
• Recruit, hire, train, and supervise grooming staff, provide coaching and performance evaluations.
• Create and manage grooming schedules to maximize capacity and adapt to customer demand.
• Monitor salon performance metrics (revenue, customer satisfaction, productivity) and develop action plans.
• Interact with pet parents, provide grooming recommendations and timely resolutions to questions or concerns.
• Independently perform professional grooming services according to breed standards and company policies.
