Overall Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing professional grooming services for dogs using knowledge of canine characteristics and grooming styles and techniques.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Deliver world-class customer satisfaction
2. Answer phone and schedule appointments
3. Assist in generating business by calling existing and new customers, scheduling appointments, follow-up calls, reminders, and verifying vaccinations
4. Book appointments and greet pets as they come in
5. Report all accidents and injuries to the Store Manager promptly
6. Follow bathing/grooming procedures as outlined
7. Clean ears, clip nails, and perform other needed services
8. Adhere to customer instructions for clipping patterns
9. Clip dog’s hair according to the pattern, using electric clippers, combs, and shears
10. Comb and shape dogs’ coats
11. Use non-physical techniques to keep animals calm
12. Complete and maintain customer and company forms accurately
13. Observe safety rules and standards
14. Maintain cleanliness of cages, tubs, and grooming areas
15. Assist in store operations as needed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of grooming/styling experience with pets
• Comfortable working with dogs and cats
• Own grooming tools or willingness to purchase them
• High school diploma or equivalent; successful completion of Paragon Level 1 & 2 training

• Move and transfer animals and equipment up to 50 pounds
• Stand and operate equipment for extended periods
• Bend, kneel, and squat frequently
• Operate store equipment effectively
• Complete documentation accurately
