Overall Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing professional grooming services for dogs, utilizing knowledge of canine characteristics, grooming styles, and techniques.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Deliver world-class customer satisfaction
2. Answer phone calls and schedule appointments
3. Assist in generating business by calling existing and new customers, scheduling appointments, follow-up calls, reminders, and verifying vaccinations
4. Book appointments and greet pets as they arrive
5. Report all accidents and injuries to the Store Manager promptly
6. Follow bathing and grooming procedures as outlined
7. Clean ears, clip nails, and perform other grooming services as needed
8. Follow customer instructions for clipping patterns
9. Clip dog’s hair according to the pattern using electric clippers, combs, and shears
10. Comb and shape dogs’ coats
11. Use non-physical techniques to keep animals calm during grooming
12. Complete and maintain customer and company forms accurately
13. Adhere to all safety rules and procedures
14. Maintain cleanliness of cages, tubs, and grooming equipment
15. Assist in store operations as needed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of grooming/styling experience with pets
• Comfortable working with dogs and cats
• Own grooming tools or willingness to purchase them
• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of Paragon Level 1 & 2 training preferred

• Flexible working hours including weekends and evenings

• Varied shifts, generally no less than 4 hours

Physical Requirements

• Move and transfer animals and equipment up to 50 pounds
• Stand and perform grooming for extended periods
• Operate grooming tools safely and effectively
