IPP - Independent Pet Partners in Glenview, IL is seeking a professional pet groomer to provide upscale grooming services, including baths, brushing, trimming, and special care to improve each pet's appearance and well‑being.

The role requires at least 6 months grooming experience, ability to work evenings/weekends, and a passion for dogs. Earn a competitive income with a 50% commission vs supplemental pay and a generous benefits program.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Minimum 6 months of professional grooming experience.
• Grooming tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Passion for dog grooming and the well‑being of pets.
• Knowledgeable in breed standard grooms.
• Skills in scissoring, nail trimming, styling, and all other pet grooming functions.
• Willingness to be educated about the products and services offered.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including evenings and weekends.
• Exceptional active‑listening and customer service skills.
• Good time management skills.
• Grooming certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete superior grooms (bathing, brushing, blow drying, de‑matting, trimming).
• Provide thorough hands‑on pet check‑in and check‑out for each pet and parent.
• Use good judgment and alert pet parent of any anomalies observed.
• Actively engage pet parents, share product knowledge, and educate.
• Offer enhancements to meet pet and parent needs to grow the business.
• Maintain kindness, respect, and proper handling of pets and parents.
• Provide proactive communication via email, text, and phone.
• Encourage repeat visits to promote pet wellness.

• Positively interact with pet parents in‑person, via email, text, and phone providing them with proactive communication and exceptional service.
• Actively engage pet parents to continue to grow the business.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Rebook with pet parents to ensure timely, holistic care to promote pet wellness.Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.

• Grooming certification preferred.

Physical Demands

• Position requires a person to be both indoors and outdoors (to assist with customer carry out).
• Must be able to stand 8 hours per day with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must be comfortable working with a wide variety of animals including small and large dogs.
• Must be able to work around pet hair and dander.
