Responsibilities

• Keeps grocery department stocked, organized and appealing to meet customer demand and sales.
• Build displays to drive incremental sales.
• Stocks and rotates merchandise to ensure freshness.
• Keeps products within easy customer reach.
• Stores excess merchandise according to backroom guidelines.
• Greets customers, answers questions and resolves concerns promptly and professionally.
• Applies stocking techniques to keep products on shelves with correct prices and signs.
• May assist with receiving, unloading, and stocking deliveries using hand or powered jacks if trained.
• Handles damaged or discontinued items per policy.
• Removes unsellable product.
• Maintains general sanitation in the department.
• Follows cleaning schedules to keep areas, equipment and displays clean and compliant.
• Disposes of trash properly.
• Maintains productivity standards and shrink control.
• Complies with security regulations and policies.
• Puts out stock at an acceptable rate per company standards.
• Assists with baling cardboard and related duties if trained.
• Ensures smooth department and store operations with coworkers and supervisors.
• Continuously improves job performance.
• Uses company PPE including gloves, cutters and footwear.
• May assist in other departments as needed.
