Job summary

Houchens Food Group is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager and oversee daily store operations, team supervision, and customer service.

You will help with scheduling, training, inventory, and ensuring safety, pricing, and high standards. This role requires flexibility to work shifts including nights and weekends and a High School diploma plus 1–2 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years related retail supervisory experience.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist store manager in daily store operations and meet company standards.
• Directly supervise sales workers in store and assign duties.
• Monitor sales activities and ensure customer satisfaction and quality goods.
• Oversee inventory, pricing accuracy, and records of purchases and sales.
• Ensure safety, health, and security rules are followed.
• Recruit, train, evaluate, and develop store staff.
• Plan and maintain work schedules and timecards.
• Control store expenses and payroll within budget.
• Prepare end-of-week reports and approve timecards.
• Open and close the store and ensure proper cash handling.
