Job summary

Meijer is seeking a Food Clerk to deliver friendly, knowledgeable service in our Fresh departments. You will engage with customers, share product details, and maintain attractive displays while stocking and rotating items.

You’ll use store technology to complete tasks accurately, follow safety standards, and support colleagues across departments to ensure a smooth shopping experience. Ideal candidates bring a customer-first mindset, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is helpful but not required
• Ability to learn store technologies and processes
• Able to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming store experience and help customers across Fresh departments
• Share product knowledge and help customers find items they need
• Maintain full, fresh, and visually appealing displays

What You’ll Do

As a Food Clerk, you play a key role in creating a fresh, welcoming, and well‑run store experience within our Fresh departments.

You’ll:

• Build positive connections with customers and teammates

• Share product knowledge and help customers find what they need

• Maintain full, fresh, and visually appealing product displays

• Stock, rotate, and merchandise product according to standards

• Use technology to complete tasks efficiently and accurately

• Follow food safety, sanitation, and quality procedures

• Work across departments including Meat, Seafood, Bakery, Deli, Produce and Grocery

• Support other tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly
