Job summary

Cosentino's Price Chopper #405 in Ottawa, KS is seeking a part-time Utility Clerk/Sacker to assist customers, bag groceries, and support store operations promptly and politely.

You will follow store policies, perform price checks, help customers locate items, and ensure cleanliness and safety of the sales floor and carts.

This non-exempt role reports to the Office Manager and requires good communication, basic math and reading skills, and adherence to health and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Completion of ongoing training and development as listed on the Cosentino’s Learning Plan.
• It may be required to obtain a valid liquor license prior to the first day of work.

Responsibilities

• Utilize proper bagging techniques to minimize product damage, maximize efficiency and avoid shrink.
• Know and implement the Cosentino’s Customer Service Standards.
• Know your store’s items, procedures and policies so that you can accurately and courteously answer customer questions.
• Deliver groceries to and loading them into customer’s vehicles when requested.
• Assisting customers in locating items in the store.
• Retrieving carts from the parking lot and ensuring they are safe and clean for customer use.
• Conducting price checks for cashiers.
• Monitoring the sales floor, cashier stands, and restrooms for cleanliness and keeping these areas tidy and safe for customers and employees.
• Resolve customer complaints in a professional manner and recognize when it is appropriate to involve a member of the store management team.
• Know, comply with, and encourage other team members to comply with all health regulations, sanitation guidelines and safety procedures for your department and your store.
• Able to operate, clean and maintain all equipment safely and competently.
• Meet or exceed productivity standards to produce desired team and individual results.
• Demonstrates the strong verbal and interpersonal skills necessary for positive customer and peer interactions.
• Demonstrates the basic math and reading skills required for the position.
• Know and follow all government regulations regarding alcohol and tobacco sales.
