Job summary

Smith's Food & Drug Centers is seeking a Receiving/Stock Associate to uphold exceptional customer service while ensuring a safe, clean store environment. You will assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals and monitor quality assurance standards.

Responsibilities include receiving deliveries, verifying product condition and pricing, maintaining temperature logs, and ensuring inventory integrity.

• Process damaged/returned goods and complete related paperwork.
• Maintain security of receiving area and follow safety procedures.
• Support and train DSD Receiver backups and reinforce safety programs.

MINIMUM

• Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing)

• Develop and train DSD Receiver back up
• Ensure maximum security of receiving area
• Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notify appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify store management
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are maintained
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads
• Ensure inventory management for all delivered product
• Process damaged/returned goods and complete/process paperwork
• Check condition, accuracy of quantity, pricing, and temperature of product received
• Ensure shipping and receiving tools are working properly to provide a smooth transition of the products/merchandise into the store and inventory logs
• Maintain an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions to capture ordering system integrity, including Computer Assisted Ordering
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise
• Promote trust and respect among associates, with a positive attitude
