Job summary

Kroger in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Receiving Clerk to deliver outstanding customer service while ensuring a safe, clean environment and accurate receiving of goods.

You will support the department manager to meet sales goals, train a back-up, and maintain inventory accuracy. This role requires teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced store setting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Report safety risks or illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Develop and train DSD Receiver back up.
• Ensure maximum security of receiving area.
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying the appropriate department or store manager of repairs.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are maintained.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Ensure inventory management for all delivered product.
• Process damaged/returned goods and complete/process paperwork.
• Check condition, accuracy of quantity, pricing, and temperature of product received.
• Ensure shipping and receiving tools are working properly to provide a smooth transition of the products/merchandise into the store and inventory logs.
• Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions to capture ordering system integrity, including Computer Assisted Ordering.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Promote trust and respect among associates, with a positive attitude.
• Ability to work cooperatively in high paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner.
• Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
• Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
