Job summary

The Kroger in Birmingham, MI is seeking a dedicated team member to assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals while maintaining safety, cleanliness and excellent customer service. You will help manage receiving, inventory integrity, and adherence to food safety standards in a fast-paced store environment.

Ideal candidates collaborate well, pay close attention to detail, and can handle a dynamic workload with a positive attitude.

Qualifications

• Ability to collaborate and work cooperatively in a team-based environment.

• Any receiving experience is desirable.
• Second language skills (speaking/reading/writing) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Report safety risks or issues, and illegal activity, including: robbery, theft or fraud.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Develop and train DSD Receiver back up.
• Ensure maximum security of receiving area.
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs.
• Reinforce safety programs by following procedures and identifying unsafe conditions.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and logs kept.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Ensure inventory management for all delivered product.
• Process damaged/returned goods and complete necessary paperwork.
• Check condition, quantity, pricing and temperature of received product.
• Ensure shipping/receiving tools work properly to ensure smooth transition into store/inventory logs.
• Maintain awareness of stock levels to support ordering integrity.

• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise
• Promote trust and respect among associates, with a positive attitude
