Job summary

Shaw’s and Star Market is seeking a Grocery Department Manager to lead daily department operations, drive sales, and maintain in-stock, pricing accuracy, and merchandising standards. This role emphasizes hands-on leadership, team development, and delivering a great shopping experience.

You will oversee staffing, training, and coaching of grocery associates while ensuring compliance with safety and company policies, contributing to store profitability and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Ensure shelves, displays, and aisles are clean, full, front-facing, and merchandised to company standards
• Execute planograms, promotional sets, seasonal transitions, and weekly ad merchandising
• Manage ordering, inventory levels, product rotation, and backroom organization
• Monitor shrink and implement procedures to reduce waste and loss
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, safety, and operational standards
• Hire, train, coach, schedule, and develop grocery associates while fostering a positive team environment
