Job summary

The Fresh Market is seeking a Grocery Manager in Carmel, Indiana to lead store operations, direct the team, and maintain pricing integrity. This role focuses on delivering exceptional guest service while managing inventory and implementing company standards.

You will supervise daily activities, train staff, and ensure efficient store performance. The position requires a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, with opportunities for growth within The Fresh Market team.

Qualifications

• 3 years of management experience in grocery retail, restaurant and/or culinary experience.
• Ability to read, understand and follow planograms, layouts, and schematics for merchandising.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and proactively assist them with accurate and timely service.
• Make recommendations and accommodate requests.
• Manage order guides, ordering deadlines, and shrink/damage.
• Receive and stock goods following rotation standards when replenishing levels.
• Direct teams to handle, rest, and merchandise per standards.
• Coach and train team members on-the-job and via internal training platform for guest service excellence.
• Occasionally oversee total store operations or Manager on Duty (MOD).

About The Position

As the Grocery Manager, you are taking the lead in directing team members, managing department inventory, pricing integrity and other operational processes that require significant attention to detail. This is a fast-paced position that requires efficiency and effectiveness and a passion for excellence to drive results.

What You'll Do

• Greet guests and proactively assist them in a friendly manner with accurate and timely service
• Making recommendations and accommodating requests
• Managing order guides/ordering deadlines/reducing shrink/damage
• Properly receiving/stocking of goods that follow rotation standards when replenishing product levels.
• Direct teams to handle, rest, and merchandising of goods that follow TFM standards
• Engage, motivate, coach, and train team members “on-the-job” as well as through The Fresh Market’s internal training platform to provide excellent guest service in a safe and secure manner
• At times you will be responsible for total store operations or Manager on Duty (MOD)

Availability

This position requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.
