Job summary

Kroger in Kingwood, TX is seeking a store associate to deliver outstanding customer service, maintain a safe, clean environment, and assist the department manager in reaching sales goals. You will answer questions about products, stock shelves, monitor freshness and report issues, contributing to a positive, inclusive team that puts customers first.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Effective communication skills.
• Any retail experience is desirable.
• Second language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering product questions.
• Gain knowledge of products and respond with suggestions.
• Recommend grocery items and inform customers of specials.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness and review sell-by dates.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise and provide fresh products.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers and logs.
• Reinforce safety programs and notify management of unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and notify maintenance of needed repairs.
• Notify management of accidents and report safety risks or illegal activity.
• Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
