Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines; ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are kept.
  • Report safety risks or issues, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud; notify management of accidents.
  • Train department associates on inventory/stocking and CAO (Computer Assisted Ordering).
  • Plan, organize and supervise the inventory process.
  • Schedule daily, weekly and monthly price changes by updating shelf tags and promotional signs.
  • Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions; note discrepancies.
  • Assist store management in preparing the store/department budget, P&L reviews, and take action on financial reports.
  • Monitor and control expenses for the department.
  • Stay current with ads, seasonal and special promotions.
  • Implement the period promotional plan for the department.
  • Prepare and submit seasonal critiques for the sales and merchandising supervisor.
  • Create and execute sales promotions with store management.
  • Understand the store layout and locate products.
  • Gain knowledge of products and respond to questions with suggestions.
  • Adhere to local, state and federal laws and company guidelines.
  • Train and develop associates and participate in performance appraisals.
  • Develop scheduling to manage customer volume during hours of operation.
  • Promote teamwork to achieve company/store goals.
  • Communicate information to associates.
  • Supervise and coach direct reports; complete performance reviews and provide feedback.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.

QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM
  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Any management experience
