Job summary

Responsibilities

• Adhere to food safety regulations; ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain temperature logs.
• Report safety risks or issues, including robbery, theft or fraud; notify management of accidents.
• Train department associates on inventory/stocking and CAO.
• Plan, organize and supervise the inventory process.
• Schedule daily, weekly and monthly price changes; update shelf tags and promotional signs.
• Maintain awareness of inventory conditions; note discrepancies.
• Assist store management in budgeting, P&L reviews; take action on financial reports.
• Monitor and control department expenses.
• Stay current with ads; implement promotional plans for the department.
• Prepare seasonal critiques for the sales/merchandising supervisor.
• Create and execute sales promotions with store management.
• Understand store layout; locate products.
• Gain knowledge of products; respond to questions and make suggestions.
• Adhere to local, state and federal laws; follow company guidelines.
• Train and develop associates; participate in performance reviews.
• Develop scheduling to manage customer volume; promote teamwork.
• Communicate information to associates; supervise and coach direct reports.
