Job summary

Lowes Foods, LLC is seeking a Grocery Manager to supervise the grocery department, ensure guest-friendly service, and maintain merchandising and inventory programs in the store. You will act in the Department Manager's absence and lead staff to hit sales and quality standards.

The role emphasizes training and development, price integrity, and adherence to safety and sanitation guidelines while coordinating with store leadership and vendors to optimize product levels and profitability.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of supermarket knowledge or retail management exposure.
• Ability to supervise staff including training and development.
• Strong guest service and selling skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork.
• Physical ability to lift 40 lbs consistently and handle stock tasks.

Responsibilities

• Ensure guests receive polite, friendly service from the grocery department staff.
• Achieve budgeted sales, wage percent, and profits for the grocery department.
• Maintain inventory and supplies to maximize sales and minimize excess inventory.
• Operate department according to merchandising and operational guidelines.
• Ensure product quality meets Lowes Foods standards.
• Maintain sanitation and safety throughout department and backroom.
• Provide guidance, orientation, training and feedback to staff.
• Perform product stocking and guest service as needed to meet standards.
• Maintain staffing and scheduling standards for the department.
• Control shrink through stock loss program adherence.
• Ensure proper pricing and item scanning via audits and procedures.
• Maintain backroom organization and cleanliness.
• Ensure advertised items are available, signed, and scanning correctly.
• Help prepare grocery department for inventory events.
• Coordinate with Store Manager, Grocery Manager and Receiver on product levels and vendor conditions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
