Job summary

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about products.
• Gain knowledge of products and respond to questions with suggestions.
• Inform customers of grocery specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products they ordered.
• Recommend grocery items to ensure customers get what they want.
• Check product quality and review sell-by dates.
• Bag items efficiently and with care to avoid damage.
• Assist customers with loading bags into their car.
• Return merchandise to shelves and gather carts.
• Know the store layout and locate products; conduct price checks for cashiers.
• Order, label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Maintain a positive attitude and stay current with ads.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and temperature logs.
• Operate equipment (refrigerators, freezers, baler, u-boats, compactor, forklift, pallet jacks) per guidelines.
• Report safety risks or issues and unsafe conditions to management.
• Notify management of accidents; comply with safety procedures.
