Responsibilities

• Assist customers with finding items and provide excellent customer service.
• Inform customers about specials and recommend items to meet their needs.
• Check product freshness and dates and take action when needed.
• Provide customers with fresh and non-perishable grocery products as ordered.
• Suggest products to customers to ensure satisfaction and shopping success.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Stay current with ads and promotions to benefit customers.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers and log temperatures.
• Learn product knowledge to respond to questions and make recommendations.
• Create an inviting environment where customers feel welcome and valued.
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions to management.
• Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs.
• Notify management of accidents involving customers or employees.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts in a calm, cooperative manner.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
