Responsibilities

• Grocery Clerk helps customers discover items they inquire about.
• Informs customers of food specials and recommends products.
• Check product quality for freshness and review sell-by dates.
• Provide customers with ordered fresh and non-perishable groceries.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and temperature logs.
• Know products well to answer questions and make suggestions.
• Create a welcoming environment and assist across the store.
• Reinforce safety programs and notify management of hazards.
• Inspect equipment and report needed repairs.
• Notify management of accidents involving customers or staff.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment.
• Handle conflicts professionally and calmly.
• Maintain honesty and integrity with information.
• Follow directions and seek help when needed.
• Assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
