Job summary

Ruler Foods is seeking a dedicated Grocery Clerk/Cashier at our Cape Girardeau store to deliver fast, friendly service at the checkout and assist customers with product questions. You will stock shelves, monitor product freshness, follow safety guidelines, and support loss prevention while maintaining a welcoming, clean shopping environment for every guest.

This role requires the ability to handle multiple tenders, follow policies, and work cooperatively in a busy store to ensure customers leave

Qualifications

• Basic math skills.
• Able to complete cashier training program.
• Ability to memorize produce items and sale items.
• Effective communication and reading skills.
• Must be 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Process customer transactions quickly and accurately at the checkout.
• Rotate merchandise by code dates and ensure freshness; review sell by dates.
• Promote trust and respect among team members in a fast-paced environment.
• Answer customer questions and assist with product questions to help shopping experience.
• Maintain knowledge of products and make suggestions to customers.
