Job summary

Oliver in Montecito is seeking a Grocery Clerk 4 - Stocker to support daily grocery operations and deliver excellent customer service. This full-time role requires handling inventory, displays, and deliveries while working afternoons and weekends.

Responsibilities include assisting customers, maintaining back stock, and following safety procedures. Bilingual skills and a courteous communication style are valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years old.
• Retail or grocery experience preferred.
• Able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Team player who can work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Basic math skills.
• Conversational English required with customers.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and address customer needs promptly.
• Know grocery products and aisle locations (conventional, organic, perishable).
• Maintain inventory floor and back stock levels.
• Assist with breakdown and inspection of deliveries.
• Follow rotation practices for received deliveries.
• Maintain product displays and signage on the sales floor.
• Answer phones and pages promptly and courteously.
• Follow health, sanitation and safe work practices.
• Immediately report safety hazards to supervisors.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties.
• Work all scheduled shifts and attend trainings and meetings.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisors.

GROCERY CLERK 4 - STOCKER

REGULAR FULL TIME - $19.00 - 22.00/HR

SHIFTS: AFTERNOONS (11:30 AM-8:00 PM) - WEEKENDS REQUIRED

POSITION SUMMARY

As a Grocery Clerk 4, you focus on assisting in the daily operations of the Grocery department while providing excellent customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide excellent customer service, address the needs of customers, and answer their questions in a timely and effective manner.
• Acquire and maintain thorough knowledge of grocery products and aisle location. (e.g. conventional, organic, perishable, etc.)
• Assist with maintaining the inventory floor. (e.g. merchandising, facing products, pulling inventory, rotating perishable items, etc.)
• Assist with maintaining appropriate levels of back stock of grocery items.
• Aid with the breakdown and inspection of delivery/vendor orders.
• Accurately follow proper rotation practices when organizing and storing received deliveries.
• Assist with maintaining product displays on the sales floor, including accurate signage.
• Answers phones and pages promptly and courteously .
• Follow and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation and safe work practices.
• Immediately reports safety hazards and violations to supervisors.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned.
• Works all scheduled shifts and attends required trainings and meetings.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisors.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• 18+ years old.
• Retail or Grocery experience preferred.
• Ability to effectively prioritize competing tasks in a fast paced, evolving environment.

• Ability to follow directions and established procedures with attention to detail.
• Clear and effective communication style, both written and verbal.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES

• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
