Job summary

Fiesta Mart in Houston, TX is hiring a Grocery Clerk for Store 022 Houston-S Main (ages 16-17). Under direct supervision of the Grocery Manager, you’ll provide friendly service, help customers, stock shelves, and keep displays clean.

This role may require nights and weekends and physical tasks including lifting up to 60 pounds. Candidates should be able to read and write in Spanish and English, have basic PC skills, and be comfortable in a fast-paced grocery environment.

Qualifications

• Read and write Spanish/English, interact with the public and co-workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, shelf tags, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, courteous service to customers.
• Assist customers and answer questions.
• Clean display cases and shelves; rotate self‑serve displays.
• Work a variety of hours including nights and weekends.

• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision of the Grocery Manager, the Grocery Clerk will provide friendly, courteous, and helpful service. This position will assist customers, clean display cases, and clean shelves. They will also clean, fill and rotate the self‑serve displays. Must be able to work a variety of hours including nights and weekends. Must be able to perform heavy lifting, bending and stooping for long periods of time. The working environment is typical for a fast‑paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
