• Check product quality and freshness; review sell-by dates and take action as needed.
• Provide customers with fresh and non-perishable grocery items they ordered.
• Suggest additional items to ensure customers obtain desired products.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers; keep temperature logs.
• Know products sold in the department and answer questions with recommendations.
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome and valued.
• Support safety programs and report unsafe conditions to management.
• Inspect equipment and report items needing repair.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Work cooperatively in high paced or stressful environments.
