Job summary

Pyramid Foods is seeking an entry-level store cleaner to support daily sanitation across the store. This role covers floor cleaning, customer-service touchpoints, and general upkeep to ensure a clean shopping environment.

Part-time or full-time positions are available. The role involves standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lb, and following safety and dress code policies in a grocery setting.

Qualifications

• This is an entry‑level sanitation/cleaning role in a grocery store.
• Requires ability to handle physical tasks in a retail environment.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lb and perform repetitive movements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleaning of the sales floor; sweep, machine-clean, and buff for shine.
• Spot wax areas as needed to maintain floor quality.
• Keep restrooms, back room, and sidewalks clean per management requests.
• Maintain organized janitorial storage and supplies.
• Check refrigeration temperatures and log accordingly.
• Occasionally walk the store to ensure doors are secured.
• Communicate maintenance issues to the Store Director.

Your role in the store is to provide sanitation for the entire store including floor maintenance.

Daily Operations

• Maintaining exceptional customer service for all clientele
• Cleaning the entire sales floor by sweeping, running the machine over the floor, and buffing the sales floor to maintain floor shine
• Spot wax areas that have received damage to the wax
• Maintaining clean restrooms, back room, and sidewalks as requested by management
• Keeping all janitorial storage organized and clean
• Checking refrigeration temperatures and keeping a log
• Occasionally walking the store to ensure doors are locked and secure

Company Standards

• Communicating any maintenance issues with the Store Director
• Complying with all company policies including following dress code and wearing name tag.

Basic Functions And Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift 50 lb. boxes on occasion and/or exert 25-50 lbs. of force frequently and/or 10-20 lbs. of force constantly while moving and handling materials and products. Must have dexterous use of both hands. Must be able to stand and move about to various workstations. Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull items so that objects move toward areas of use. Must be able to use knives and other sharp instruments utilized in the preparations of food items and/or removing products from boxes.

This is medium work requiring good, corrected vision, hearing, lifting, carrying, stooping, kneeling, standing, reaching, pushing, pulling, and the ability to work on floors that sometimes become slippery.
