Houchens Food Group is seeking a Cashier in our Grocery department. This position offers flexible shifts and a path to contribute to store profitability by accurately processing transactions and providing friendly service.

Responsibilities include counting money at start of shift, using cash registers, scanning items, processing credit/debit payments, and following company policies. No prior experience required; training provided to ensure accuracy and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Experience not required; willingness to learn and follow store procedures.
• Strong data entry and math accuracy for quick cash handling.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts.
• Establish or identify prices of goods and services using cash.
• Stock shelves and hang tags.
• Monitor checkout stations to ensure adequate cash and staffing.
• Record all markups, markdowns, spoilage and store use of merchandise.
• Advise Store Manager/Assistant Manager of personnel situations or policy violations.
• Advise other cashiers with problems concerning store operations.
• Follow company policy by maintaining a low cash drawer and using the safe.
• Complete shift-checkout report as instructed.
• Follow vendor check-in procedures per guidelines.
• Perform cleaning duties such as cleaning front windows and around check stands.
