Job summary

Gordon Food Service is seeking a strategic Category Manager to drive growth across assigned categories through rigorous product planning, pricing strategy, and cross-functional collaboration with sales, sourcing and procurement. You will develop long-range category plans, analyze market trends, and lead negotiations that optimize margins while delivering value to customers.

The role requires strong leadership, data-driven decision making, and the ability to translate insights into actionable

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred in Marketing, Business, or related fields.
Four years of product, brand, or category management experience.
Terminal purchasing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Develop long-range strategies for the assigned category to achieve volume and profit targets.
Develop and facilitate an annual category plan for the assigned category.
Manage and negotiate customer support such as marketing dollars, slotting allowances, and costs.
Analyze sales reports, market trends, and forecasts to identify targets.
Accountable for sales and profitability by managing pricing, margin, product mix, packaging, and opportunities.
Provide direction of product lifecycle management from introduction to discontinuance.
Develop and execute the category review strategy for the assigned category.
Create, monitor, and adjust pricing strategies aligned with store goals.
