Job summary

Roots Natural Kitchen in Blacksburg is seeking a Grill Crewmember to prepare grilled items and rice on a flat top grill in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

You will help ensure delicious, high-quality dishes, support from front-of-house, and contribute to a positive guest experience with a flexible schedule and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Loyally follow and execute food safety practices as instructed by Leadership Team.
• Communicate any food issues or delays to Leadership Team.
• Maintain a clean work station, including grill, equipment, tables and shelves.
• Safely use knives, tools, and equipment to prepare grill and rice items.
• Use portion control and minimize waste to keep costs within budget.
• Multi-task and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Open and close grill station according to restaurant standards.
• Actively communicate with Leadership Team, dish and line crewmembers.
• Maintain a positive and cheerful attitude during all scheduled shifts.

THE ROLE

As a member of our grill crew you are responsible for cooking all of our grilled items and rice. You will work our flat top grill in the front of house, making sure your crew is supported by having deliciously cooked items ready-to-go, keeping your station spotless and stocked at all times, and collaborating with the rest of your front of house crew to ensure our customers are having an amazing experience.
