Job summary

The Outlook Restaurant is seeking an experienced Grill Cook to join our kitchen team for the fall and winter season. This hands-on role operates in a fast-paced restaurant kitchen, preparing items like burgers, steaks, salmon, shrimp and more to precise temperatures.

Strong candidates will have prior grill or line cook experience, the ability to manage a high-volume grill station, and a commitment to food safety and teamwork in a busy service environment.

Responsibilities

• Work the grill station during lunch and dinner service.
• Prepare burgers, steaks, beef tips, chicken, salmon, shrimp and grilled sandwiches.
• Cook steaks, burgers and other proteins to requested temperatures.
• Coordinate with sauté, fry, expo and other kitchen stations so orders come out together.
• Prepare and stock your station before service.
• Follow proper food handling, sanitation and allergy procedures.
• Keep the grill and surrounding work area clean and organized.
• Assist with kitchen prep, opening and closing duties as needed.

Job description

The Outlook Restaurant is looking for an experienced Grill Cook to join our kitchen team for the upcoming fall and winter season.

This is a hands-on grill position in a fast-paced restaurant kitchen. Our menu includes Black Angus burgers, marinated chicken, char-broiled tenderloin beef tips, steak, grilled salmon, shrimp, grilled sandwiches and other made-to-order items, so we're looking for someone who is confident working a busy grill and can consistently execute proteins to the proper temperature.

What You'll Be Doing

• Working the grill station during busy lunch and dinner service
• Preparing burgers, steaks, beef tips, chicken, salmon, shrimp and grilled sandwiches
• Cooking steaks, burgers and other proteins accurately to requested temperatures
• Managing several orders and different cook times at once
• Keeping up with tickets while maintaining consistency and presentation
• Coordinating with sauté, fry, expo and other kitchen stations so orders come out together
• Preparing and stocking your station before service
• Following proper food handling, sanitation and allergy procedures
• Keeping the grill and surrounding work area clean and organized
• Assisting with kitchen prep, opening and closing duties as needed

What We're Looking For

Previous grill or line cook experience is strongly preferred.

Fall Schedule

The Outlook Restaurant will be open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays throughout October.

There may also be opportunities to continue working with us into our winter season.
