Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Grill Cook at Vermont State University Castleton Campus. This full-time role offers a pay range of $16.10 to $18.00 per hour and varied shifts.

You will work as part of a team to prepare and grill menu items for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special events, while keeping customer service at the heart of everything you do. Ideal candidates have 0–2 years of related food service experience, flexibility, reliability, and a safety-first mindset.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of related food service experience is beneficial.
• Able to work varied shifts and maintain a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, grill, and present hot and cold foods for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and events.
• Read and measure ingredients according to recipes.
• Operate grill, fryer and other kitchen equipment; serve customers when needed.
• Attend shifts on time and follow shift requirements.

Employment Type: Full-time

Pay Range: $16.10 per hour - $18.00 per hour

What You’ll Do: As a Grill Cook at Sodexo, you are a team player and food waste reducer. You’ll prepare and create nutritious dishes while putting customer service at the heart of everything you do. Your passion for food and warm smile will make a positive impact and brighten the day of those you serve.

Responsibilities include:

• Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, grill, and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods: to include Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Special/Catered Events.

• Read and measure/mix ingredients according to recipe(s)

• May prepare food and serve customers at an a la carte and/or operate a grill station, fryer, and other kitchen equipment

• Attends work and shows for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity

• Other duties may be assigned and can differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.
