Hawaiian Electric is seeking a Technology Consultant to scout and evaluate advanced grid technologies for RD&D and pilot projects in Honolulu. You will manage the technology innovation portfolio, coordinate external funding, and lead governance for proposals and test deployments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field from ABET-accredited college or university.
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical power systems and grid operations.
  • Experience with technology scouting, RD&D, and project governance.

Responsibilities

  • Scout and evaluate emerging grid technologies for RD&D and pilot programs.
  • Lead technology governance, project scoping, budgets, and stage-gate reviews.
  • Coordinate internal and external collaborations; function as a technology liaison.
  • Facilitate technology transfer and support implementation of company plans.
