Job summary

The United Illuminating Company, part of Avangrid, seeks an engineer to support distribution planning, including voltage, thermal, N-1, and power factor studies, and to engage with Grid Automation and Non-Wires projects across various voltages.

Responsibilities include analyzing PV and battery storage interconnections, applying GIS, power flow, and protection tools, and mentoring the team while supporting storm restoration efforts.

Qualifications

• BSEE required with power system concentration preferred.
• 0-2 years of experience (Industry Related).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on distribution studies including voltage, thermal, N-1, and power factor assessments.
• Assess DER interconnections and customer load interconnections at multiple voltage levels.
• Develop designs and recommendations compliant with program objectives.
• Mentor and support team, collaborate with internal teams and industry peers.
