Job summary

Troon is hiring a Greenskeeper for Pinewood Country Club in Parkland. The role focuses on landscaping, maintenance around the golf course, and basic irrigation tasks.

No prior experience is required beyond basic groundskeeping knowledge, with beginner greenskeepers welcome and flexible hours during golf and holiday seasons. Responsibilities include mowing, irrigation operation and maintenance, soil preparation, pruning, fertilizing, and general upkeep of greens and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Valid Driver's License
• Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g., associates may need to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers; equipment manuals are in English)

Responsibilities

• Maintains clean and organized work areas on the golf course and maintenance facility
• Mows greens, approaches, fairways, rough, tees and other areas
• Waters tees, greens and fairways; operates irrigation heads in dry areas needing additional water
• Repairs the irrigation system, pipes and irrigation heads as necessary; grades and prepares soil base, lays sod and seeds greens, tees and fairways
• Trims and prunes hedges and shrubbery; cleans flower beds
• Applies pesticides and fertilizer to the golf course
• Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor or manager

Education

Ideal candidates have a passion for landscaping and nurturing our grounds. As a Grounds Keeper, you will be responsible for the landscaping and maintenance around the golf course. Beginner Greenskeepers are welcome - while knowledge of grounds maintenance is preferred, previous experience is not required for the position.

Ideal candidates have flexible schedules with availability to work extended hours during golf and holiday season, as needed.
