Job summary

Palos Verdes Golf Club is seeking a greenskeeper to join our private club in maintaining an 800-acre parkland preserve with ocean views. Duties include mowing, bunkers, watering, and general course maintenance while working outdoors in various weather conditions.

The successful candidate will safely operate hand tools and power equipment, follow directions, and participate in trainings as needed. Equal opportunity employer committed to a diverse workforce.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Ability to operate hand tools and power equipment safely.
• Able to follow verbal directions accurately.
• Knowledge of grounds and landscape maintenance tools, methods and materials.

Responsibilities

• Mowing greens, fairways, and roughs.
• Raking bunkers and maintaining course surfaces.
• Watering tees, greens, fairways and roughs.
• Using a string trimmer or blower for cleanup and edging.
• Attend trainings and meetings as required/requested.
• Other duties as assigned.

Palos Verdes Golf Club is a private club located in the middle of an 800-acre parkland preserve overlooking Santa Monica Bay with ocean views visible from several holes. Established in 1924, the golf course has long been referred to as 'a hidden gem' and the clubhouse is a designated historical building by the Palos Verdes Historical Society.

Greenskeeper Duties may include but are not limited to:

• Mowing
• Raking Bunkers
• Watering tees, greens, fairways and roughs
• Using a string trimmer or blower
• Attend trainings and meetings as required/requested
• Other duties as assigned

The successful candidate:

• Will be able to work safely with a variety of hand tools and power equipment
• Be willing to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
• Be able to follow verbal directions
• Knowledge of tools, methods and materials used for grounds and landscape area maintenance
• Ability to operate tools and machinery and safely maneuver open/closed vehicles or equipment
